Officers of the Edo State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT) sensitized New Era Girls College students against Human Trafficking, and other related matters at the New Era College assembly ground at about 09:00 am in the morning on Friday, 18th March 2022.

Speaking on behalf of the task force at the event, Mr Chigozie gave an introductory speech and spoke to the students about the ills and dangers of human trafficking. He disclosed some tips traffickers use to get their victims and advised the students to report any suspected case of such to the task force.

Furthermore, Mrs Nkechi admonished the students to always know that they are not for sale and urged them to be serious with their studies in order to be resourceful to society.

Mr Nathaniel in his speech educated the students on the three (3) key elements that made up human trafficking which are the act, the means, and the purpose as the endpoint is exploitation.
He continued that traffickers are wicked because their aim is to deceive people for their own selfish interests and make them do what they are not willing to do. He added that traffickers are not far from them and enlightened the students on how they lure their victims.

At the end of the sensitization, Mr Chigozie gave the head prefects materials to enable them to be an advocate against human trafficking so they can impact more knowledge to the rest of the students and also set up a school club as there will always be a communication and support from the Taskforce to build their capacity and synergy.
