ETAHT commemorates 2021 World International Day Against Human Trafficking today

Edo State Task Force Against Human Trafficking and members of Go-getters commemorate with the rest of the World to mark 2021 International Day Against Human Trafficking in Persons.

Theme: “Victims’ Voices Lead the Way. The road exercise was in conjunction with the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), IOM and other stakeholders. The Secretary to the state task force represented the chairperson Professor Yinka Omorogbe who led the roadshow in the Benin metropolis.

Speaking at the event on the need to commemorate with the rest of the world in the 2021 International Day Against Human Trafficking in Persons, the secretary stated that educating the people and creating awareness to let the public know the tactics and trends traffickers use to lure its victims. She emphasized that traffickers dehumanize victims and take their dignity away from them. She noted that with the theme, it is instructive to focus on the survivors.
