As part of the activities to commemorate the 2022 World Day Against Human Trafficking-in-Persons, The Edo State Task Force Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT) kicked off a 3-Day Sensitization Program earlier today, Wednesday 27th July 2022. This is in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, Nigerian Red Cross, Edo Women Development Initiative (EWDI) and other relevant partners.

The program started with road walks to Ekiosa and New Benin Markets in Benin City.

The sensitization is in line with the global theme “Use and Abuse of Technology”. The team interacted with the market women, traders and motorists in the areas on the trends, schemes and gimmicks that traffickers now use on and off the internet to prey on their victims in a bid to expose and forestall their activities.

ETAHT team members were accompanied by representatives from partner organizations and parastatals for the event.
