Apr 01, 2021
The Edo State Task Force Against Human Trafficking received 13 Libya returnees at the Ultra-Modern Shelter for Migrants on the 30th of March, 2021. The returnees were given a warm welcome by the team of the Task Force upon their arrival. The returnees were also given full medical examination and care, welfare and shelter.
Speaking at the welcome event, Professor Yinka Omorogbe disclosed that these were the first returnees to the state this year 2021. She further noted that since the task force was inaugurated by the Governor, it has picked up and accounted for every single person flown in by the IOM in Lagos.
The 13 returnees include 9 adults and 4 children, and they are happy to be back home and at the shelter which the state government made available for them. The rehabilitation and reintegration process is in-line with the Edo State Government establishment of the task force against human trafficking.
