ETAHT receives Nigerian Red Cross Delegation

Earlier today, the Secretary of Edo State Task Force Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT), Miss Itohan Okungbowa representing The Chairperson, Prof. Yinka Omorogbe (SAN) received a team from the Nigerian Red Cross (NRCS).

The team led by The Branch Secretary, Mr Wilson Akhomoghiazin, briefed the ETAHT Secretary on the various activities of the Nigerian Red Cross organization and how both organizations can build synergy across their set objectives.

Furthermore, Mrs Chika Wandike explained areas they intend to work with ETAHT which is the Family Restoring Needs (RFN). She further expressed the need for the RFL team under the Red Cross to work with ETAHT as a relevant institution in the fight against human trafficking and migration, which will help migrants reconnect with their families easily through other areas of collaboration.

The secretary of the task force, Itohan Okungbowa in her response, appreciated the courtesy visit by the Red Cross team and further disclosed that ETAHT is mandated by Edo State Government to investigate, prosecute and reintegrate. ETAHT secretary assured the Red Cross team of the Agency's cooperation for collaboration in the area of reintegration which is related to the Restoration Family Needs (RFL) as well as sensitization.
