Libyan Returnees Graduates from The Agricultural Enterprise Training

On the 17th of May 2019, the graduation ceremony for the Libyan returnees who had undergone agricultural enterprises training sponsored by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and facilitated by Senator Matthew Uroghide took place at Federica Hotel, Benin city. Some of the distinguished personalities who graced the occasion include; Senator Matthew Uroghide- senator representing Edo South Constituency, Senator Samuel Anyanwu- representing Imo East Constituency, Prof Yinka Omorogbe- Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice Edo State, Chairperson Edo State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking etc.
Senator Uroghide in his address said that the training was a mixture of both returnees and other youths from his senatorial district. He advised the graduates that to be successful, it was important to take advantage of every opportunity when it comes and make good use of it, he admonished the graduates to make sure that they start up their agro-businesses, he said that they can start up their fishery business on a small scale, with buckets and supply within their neighbourhood. He also encouraged them to nurture their businesses and that in very little time that these businesses will expand if they are dedicated and focused. Senator Samuel Anyanwu told the graduates that he is into agriculture, he gave them ideas on how they can utilise the money they have received effectively to start making profits. He encouraged them to make good use of this opportunity, he emphasized that many youths from the different states do not have the opportunity to benefit from such programs, to enable them to have a means of livelihood and take poverty away from their lives. He thanked Senator Matthew Uroghide from remembering his people and added that it was not easy to initiate this program at the Senate, he encouraged them to make good use of it. Prof. Yinka Omorogbe in her address thanked Senator Matthew Uroghide for giving the returnees the opportunity to participate in the training. She thanked the Governor of Edo State, Mr.Godwin Obaseki who has always been solidly behind the task force. She encouraged the returnees to always take advantage of every opportunity that comes up in Benin City and Nigeria.
